Welcome

Welcome one and all to the home of Delacroix and the Daring, the Internet’s home for musketeer adventure. I am excited to announce that there will be a new strip chronicling the adventures of our musketeers, Edmond Delacroix and Darius “the Daring” Dontez, each Sunday. There will also be a new blog post every Thursday.  Join our heroes as they search for love, defend the crown, and ride the high seas. So batten down the hatches, sharpen your blades and “En Garde!” for we are about to embark on a great musketeer adventure.

Unwelcomed Interruption

Welcome to the first of many strips to come. For the first few weeks we will be setting up the plot and establishing some major characters for our first adventure. But fret not our heroes will be here soon and they will bring the action.

Your Eminence

In our second strip I wanted to establish the tension between Cardinal Mazarin and King Louis XIV. This will play out a bit more in their meeting and help set up the situation for our heroes’ adventures.

I wanted to take moment to send out some thank yous. I’d like to thank Steve Kanaras, who helped me with the script and the dialogue he is one of the best writers I’ve worked with. He is also the publisher of Free Lunch Comics, so click the link and see what they are all about. You may even be able to buy a comic or two that features some of my work.

Also, a HUGE thank you to Jay Potts, who has been sending people to the site from day one. If you don’t know about World of Hurt you need to check it out. Also, this week’s Thursday blog post will be about Alex Raymond (to blatantly plug my Thursday post) and if you don’t know who that is shame on you :P

King Louis

Hi all,

I felt like stretching a bit on this weeks strip and just doing one big panel, but next week we will be back to the standard 3 panel format. I hope you enjoy.

For those who do not know, I teach Drawing Classes for Game Production students. I attended GDX at SCAD this weekend with my brother and learned a lot about the how different companies approach designing games. If I have time this week I’ll write up an extra blog outlining a summary of some of the presentations. Also, for any aspiring concept artist or game production artists out there here is a link to a pdf file about how to prepare your portfolio for the Game Design Industry.

A Change Of Plans

I hope you all have been enjoying the interaction with the Cardinal and the King. I know I have been having a lot of fun with it. But our heroes will be here in 2 WEEKS!!!!

On a sad note, I’d like to send out my condolences to the “Macho Man” Randy Savage’s family. He was one of my childhood heroes, and I had a real geek out moment during his cameo in the Spiderman movie. Oh yeah!!!

Also, I’ve recently learned that Gene Colan as gone into Hospice care. You can get updates on his health at http://www.genecolan.blogspot.com/. I love the fact that he is still asking for pencil and paper so he can draw as often as possible.
