Bio.
My name is Anthony Summey. I am originally from the small southern town of Walhalla, SC, where I would drive my grade school teachers crazy with doodles of super heroes all over my homework assignments. Needless to say I have always and will always love to draw.
Besides being a cartoonist, I am currently a Freelance Artist and Online Art Professor. I have received my MFA degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Sequential Art. That’s right I went to college to study comic strips, comic books, storyboarding, and children’s books. My previous work has appeared mostly in small press horror anthologies. It is a genre which I am quite familiar. I even did my graduate thesis on the 1970’s horror anthologies of Warren. However, I am currently enamored by the action comic strip work of Alex Raymond, Al Williamson, Milton Caniff and Hal Foster. Which leads us to why I am trying to revive this great tradition in a new format.
